W. S. Jerky is homemade by me Joshua Gorrell. Using a Commercial grade commissary kitchen, shout out to “Old Union Eats” in Thornton Texas for the use of the Kitchen so we can make this delicious snack. Fully licensed by the state of Texas, and having Certifications as a Texas Food Safety Manager and in Food Safety Management Principles.

I started making Jerky in the later part of 2017 and I have been making it ever since. It all started at Cabelas, where I worked, as a demo for customers. From there I started enjoying making it and worked on improving the taste and flavor. Finally making the customer favorite Hickory Pepper that is so enjoyed. A little help from my wife, who liked it and wanted me to make it for home, I started to make batches for a home snack.
Soon however, when putting on demos and people, workers mainly, started to get a taste, the question of do I sell it started to arise. Soon it was being asked repeatedly and so I started out making personal batches for people and soon after had made enough money to purchase my own dehydrator. From there I started to sell to workers, Family, and Friends. I also started to venture out and try new flavors, eventually settling on the ten flavors I make today.

In 2021 I made the jump and started my own business, W. S. Jerky, and if you haven’t figured out yet, the “W” stands for Want and the “S” stands for Some. “Want Some Jerky” both a question and a need, and to that I say, “So get some.” Thanks for the support and enjoy the flavorful meaty snack.
